Grant Description
On August 6, 2021 the Chinese Government delivered an additional 200,000 donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Government of Mozambique.
A handover ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Wang Hejun, Mozambican Health Minister Armindo Tiago and Deputy Health Minister Lidia Cardoso. The vaccines were produced by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co. Ltd.
In 2021, the Chinese Government donated approximately 1.46 million doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Mozambique. A February donation of 200,000 doses is captured by Record ID#95808. A People's Liberation Army donation of vaccines from June is captured in Record ID#95811. An August donation of 200,000 doses is captured in Record ID#95809.
A final December donation of 1 million doses is captured in Record ID#95810.

As such, AidData has estimated the monetary value of the August 2021 donation as $3.6 million.
