Approved on December 16, 2021, the Asian Development Bank's project "Green and Resilient Rural Recovery through Agri-food System Transformation in Asia Pacific Region" was partially financed by the Chinese Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund, which provided $800,000 USD.
Other financiers were the Technical Assistance Special Fund with $1.5 million USD, the Regional Cooperation and Integration Fund with $500,000 USD, the Climate Change Fund with $750,000, and the Strategic Climate Fund $550,000 USD.
The project's goals are to assess the impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on the region's food and nutrition security and rural livelihood and help developing member countries (DMCs) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) reshape their visions and investments for a greener and resilient recovery of agri-food value chains and rural economies from disruptions caused by COVID-19.
It intends to address the ways in which COVID-19 has exacerbated rural poverty and food and nutrition insecurity, particularly among women and vulnerable groups.
Regional : Green and Resilient Rural Recovery through Agri-Food System Transformation in the Asia and Pacific Region Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
