Grant Description

On March 4, 2020, the head of Syria's Planning and International Cooperation Commission (PICC), Imad Sabouni, and China’s Ambassador to Syria, Feng Biao, signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) in Damascus, Syria.

Under this agreement, the Chinese government will provide an RMB 100 million grant (USD $14 million) that will be used to fund a series of humanitarian projects throughout Syria. Specific details on the humanitarian projects ultimately being funded by this agreement are unknown.
