Grant Description

On November 25, 2021, the Chinese Government agreed to grant Namibia RMB 400 million at an signing agreement event in Windhoek. The grant will be used for projects decided upon at a later date.

According to the Namibia Economist, past Economic and Trade Agreements between Namibia and China have been used for "development goals in the areas of government capacity building, economic and social development livelihood."

Ambassador of China to Namibia, signed a RMB400 million Grant Agreement on Technical & Economic Cooperation.
The Chinese government will provide the Namibian government with a financial grant of RMB 400 million (N$936.4 million) for projects that will be mutually agreed upon. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
