Grant Description

On July 29, 2021, the Chinese Government signed an agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide food aid to Benin, Liberia, and the Republic of Congo. The purpose of this agreement is to provide food assistance to vulnerable groups in the three countries.

The agreement indicates that China will use its South-South Cooperation Fund to finance the project and the WFP will help to implement the project. Implementation details have yet to be found. A signing ceremony was held virtually for this agreement.

Luo Zhaohui, the Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and David Beasley, the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), attended the ceremony and signed the food assistance agreement.
