Grant Description
On January 28, 2021, the Chinese ambassador to Cabo Verde, Du Xiaocong, signed an inter-governmental economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA) with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cabo Verde, Rui Figueiredo Soares. The agreement will go towards projects within the São Vicente Marine Special Economic Zone.
On the same day, Du Xiacong and Rui Figueiredo Soares exchanged letters for the Chinese financing of a new maternity and pediatric building at Cabo Verde’s Baptista de Sousa Hospital (captured in Record ID#93655).
The exchange of letters and ETCA are worth a combined RMB 100 million; the financial breakdown between projects is unknown.
