Grant Description
On May 12, 2020, China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) donated various medical supplies to the Filippino Department of National Defense (DND) with the handover ceremony at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City, the Philippines. The Filippino Secretary of National Defense Delfin N. Lorenzana received the donation from the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr.
Huang Xilian.
The donation includes 50,000 medical disposable masks, 6,000 medical surgical masks, 6,000 KN95 medical protective masks, 4,200 medical protective goggles, 3,000 face shields, 3,000 protective coveralls, 3,000 waterproof isolation gowns, 6,000 pairs of medical boots, 50 boxes of disposable nitrile gloves, 30 infusion pumps, two 16-liter knapsack disinfection sprayers, 50 infrared forehead thermometers, and two thermal imaging helmets.
The medical supplies were donated with the intention that they would be used by front liners from the Filippino DND and the Armed Forces in the country’s COVID-19 response.
