Grant Description

On February 19, 2021, the Government of Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement for a grant worth RMB 400 million (approximately USD $60 million). The agreement was signed by Dr.

Uzziel Ndagijimana, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning on behalf of the Government of Rwanda, and Rao Hongwei, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Rwanda.

During the signing ceremony, Minister Ndagijimana stated that the grant will be used for a priority project that has yet to be determined.
