Grant Description

On July 13th, 2020, a donation ceremony for the second batch of anti-pandemic materials was held at the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar.

Minister Naharimamy, the Minister of Population, Social Protection and Promotion of Women, Chinese Ambassador Yang Xiaorong, and Brigadier General Elack Andriankaja, General Coordinator of COVID-19, were in attendance.

The donation was made to the Fitia association, a charitable organization founded by Mialy Rajoelina Razakandisa, wife of Andry Rajoelina, the president of Madagascar.

The grant was organized on the initiative of Peng Liyuan, the first lady of China, and was given by the Chinese government through the the African First Ladies Federation for Development (OAFLAD). This batch of supplies included medical masks, forehead thermometers, and 7.5 tons of rice.

The first donation was in May 2020 (see Record ID#91877), and the third batch was handed over in August 2020 (see Record ID#91912).
