Grant Description

On November 12, 2020, the Chinese Government provided a grant of FJD 90,000 to Fiji’s Ministry of Local Government to support Sigatoka Town’s beautification initiatives.

The funds were used to help complete the construction of a 100-seat amphitheater on the riverbank of Sigatoka Town, as well as to concrete the new Mission Road Car Park, a nearby parking lot.

The funding was officially presented during a public ceremony attended by Minister Kumar and Chinese Ambassador Qian Bo. The amphitheater was officially opened to the public during a formal handover ceremony on April 26, 2024.
