Grant Description

On May 13, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Argentina provided a donation of masks and PPE to an Argentine nursing home to protect against COVID-19. The donation was made to Mabel Bueno's nursing home in honor of her sister, Leila Bueno, who had recently passed away.

The Bueno sisters were longtime friends of the Chinese Embassy; Leila was nicknamed "la abuelita de la embajada" and had met Premier Zhou Enlai on a medical delegation's visit to China in 1973.
