Grant Description

On April 27, 2019, China and Ethiopia signed an agreement at the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing, pledging 100 million RMB worth of emergency food aid to Ethiopia for 2019.

The aid was given as an emergency response to drought and food shortage in Ethiopia and was financed by China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). On August 2, 2019, China donated its first batch of food aid weighing 7,987 metric tons and worth 50 million RMB. This donation is captured and detailed in Record ID#60404.
