Grant Description

On June 30, 2020, a representative from the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Fijian Prime Minister Bainimarama presided over the handover ceremony of a rice combine harvester worth USD 60,000. This was part of an event dedicated to diversifying Fiji's food supply and improving sufficiency.

The Chinese department of agriculture donated the machine to the Prime Minister, who subsequently gave it to the farmers. The harvester was donated to rice farmers in Vunivau-Tiritiri.
