On September 29, 2020, the handover ceremony of medical supplies donated by the Chinese Government to the Government of Vietnam took place in Hanoi, Vietnam. This shipment of medical supplies included 300,000 surgical masks and 20,000 medical protective masks. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long, the Acting Minister of Health of Vietnam, and Chinese Ambassador Hung Ba attended the ceremony.
They signed a memorandum of understanding on the handover of anti-epidemic aid items between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the People's Republic of China. According to an article posted by the Vietnam Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Long sincerely thanked the Chinese Government for providing medical supplies.
