On December 13, 2016, the two Chinese police attaches left Fiji after a six-month tour of duty. The two officers specialized in operational command centre concepts and traffic. They provided assistance and training to police officers in Fiji. This was the fourth batch of police officers from China to visit Fiji.

According to the MoU, the two sides will provide training of police personnel and meeting of working groups, and will also have technical cooperation in police science and the technology of police equipment. The MoU has an effective period of 5-years.
Trainings are conducted by China's the Ministry of Public Security, and by 2015 around 60 Fijian officers had participated in training exchanges. In 2017, the MoU was extended for a further five years.
