Grant Description

Throughout 2016, the Chinese government provided foreign aid training to 80 Venezuelan students across various areas of specialization. Relevant government institutions and departments selected the participants depending on the specific training programs. The seminars and courses took place within China; however, the specific training programs are unknown.

On November 14, 2016, the Chinese Embassy held an exchange meeting for the students who participated in foreign aid training projects throughout 2016.

Throughout the event, students gave speeches reviewing their experiences in the training programs and suggestions for future training programs.

In addition, the Chinese Ambassador, Zhao Bentang, the Venezuelan Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Plasencia, and Ji Xianzheng, a Chinese business counselor, attended and gave speeches.

This project is linked to an RMB 10 million grant the Chinese government provided to the Venezuelan government to strengthen cooperation in human resources and training projects (see Record ID#69227).
