China and Vanuatu sign MOU on Joint Chinese Language Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the Republic of Vanuatu (Linked to Record ID#89971)

On September 10 2021, China and Vanuatu signed a memorandum of understanding on Joint Chinese Language Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the Republic of Vanuatu.

Through the MOU, China will send Chinese teaching experts to help build up the program such as through developing curriculums or creating textbooks. China hopes that the MOU will strengthen support for China-Vanuatu relations.

After the agreement, the Chinese side can send Chinese experts to Vanuatu to jointly develop policy documents and framework systems such as Chinese curriculum, syllabus, and examination syllabus for primary and secondary schools in Vanuatu, help Vanuatu build a team of Chinese teachers, develop Chinese teaching materials, and jointly carry out evaluation and monitor the teaching quality of the Chinese language program in primary schools in Vanuatu, co-organize academic seminars, etc.

This will be carried out by the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education.

On November 18th, 2021, under this MOU, forty computers were donated to the Central School in Port Vila and Santo East Primary and Secondary School in Luganville, Vanuatu, by Foshan City in Guangdong Province (see Record ID#89971).
