Grant Description
On November 23, 2019, the Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahr Nasr, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Ambassador of China to Egypt, Liao Li Chang, signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) that committed RMB 300 million of grant funding for development projects.
The agreement stipulated that the grant would be used to finance projects agreed upon by both parties that invest in human capital, especially in education and health, that will contribute to improving the lives of citizens.
On December 26, 2019, Egypt's cabinet approved the grant and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi signed the ETCA agreement.
