Grant Description

On December 18, 2019, the Chinese Embassy donated 200,000 plants to Algeria as part of its National Reforestation Program. This program was launched in 2000, and the final phase was launched on October 1, 2019 by the Algerian government.

It aims to extend Algeria’s forest heritage by 1,250,000 hectares over a 20-year period and thus increase the afforestation rate from 11% to 13% by 2020.
