Grant Description

The Chinese Embassy donated supplies for the construction of three community libraries in Peru. These libraries are to be located in the Lima, Ica, and Ancash regions. The first library was built in Cañete to serve 270 primary school students. The second library was built in Ventanilla to serve 150 students with the support of 12 teachers.

Each library will have 450 books for students to use. The exact location of the third library is unknown. The Venanilla library was inaugurated on October 27, 2020. The Cañete library was inaugurated a week earlier, though the exact date is unknown.
