Grant Description

On October 11, 2019, officials of the Consulate General of China donated three automobiles, fifty walkie-talkie sets, fifteen printers, two computers, a photocopy machine and a set of monitoring equipment to the Sindh Police during a ceremony at the Sindh Central Police Office. Later, Inspector General of the Sindh Police, Dr.

Syed Kaleem Imam, distributed the equipment among different departments. Two mobile vans were given to Foreigners Security Cell while other items were handed over to the Special Security Unit.

The donation came 11 months after two police officers from the Sindh Police were killed while defending the Chinese Consulate in Karachi from a terrorist attack in November 2018.

Five months after the attack, in June 2019, the Chinese Consul General, Wang Yu, met with the Sindh Province Chief of Police and expressed willingness to assist the Sindh Police in capacity building and personnel training.
