Grant Description

In November 2011, the Chinese Government provided a USD 100,000 cash grant to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The purpose of this donation was "to support the operational cost of the organization." IGAD a multilateral entity created to promote cooperation areas like food security, environmental protection, economic development, regional integration, and peace and security. It is comprised of eight members: Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, and South Sudan.
