In November 2011, the Chinese Government provided a USD 100,000 cash grant to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
The purpose of this donation was "to support the operational cost of the organization." IGAD a multilateral entity created to promote cooperation areas like food security, environmental protection, economic development, regional integration, and peace and security. It is comprised of eight members: Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, and South Sudan.
Cooperation with China Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
