On October 23, 2018, during the celebration of the traditional Thadingyut Festival in Myanmar, Chinese Ambassador Hong Liang visited the site of the China-Myanmar Poverty Alleviation Project in a village in Naypyidaw. The Ambassador extended his festive greetings to the villagers and delivered a speech.
During the visit, the Ambassador also donated rice, oil, and school supplies to the locals. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. China-Myanmar Poverty Alleviation Project aims to help Myanmar establish demonstration sites for poverty reduction. It was officially launched in February 2018.
洪亮大使考察中缅减贫合作示范村项目 Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
