Grant Description

On October 15, 2018, the Chinese Embassy in Uganda donated cash and emergency relief items to the victims of landslides that struck the eastern district of Bududa. The donations were said to be worth about 13 million Ugandan shillings.

The landslides that left at least 46 people dead and 700 others affected occurred on Oct. 11 in Bukalasi and Buwali sub-counties. Hillary Onek, Minister of Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees received the donation.

The Chamber of Chinese Enterprises in Uganda donates 100 million Ugandan shillings worth of relief items and the Embassy also donated equipment as well.
