Grant Description
On February 18 and April 15, 2008, the Chinese Government signed an exchange of letters committing to donate breast cancer prevention equipment to several health institutions in Ecuador. According to "La Cooperación Bilateral Ecuador-China," the equipment was worth USD 294,005.01.
More specifically, one x-ray machine (equipo de Rayos X) that went to the Ambato Teaching Hospital in Tungurahua, one x-ray machine went to the Alfonso Oramas González Health Center in Guayas, and one mammogram machine to the Martha de Roldos Health Center in Guayas. The equipment arrived in Guayaquil January 10, 2009, and the official handover took place on February 13, 2009.
