U.S.

Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): The North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES) Intern Program fulfills NOAA and NMFS objectives to conserve, protect, and manage living marine resources which ensures their continuation as functioning components of marine ecosystems.

It allows individuals from PICES member countries to gain experience in operations of intergovernmental scientific organizations and coordination of multidisciplinary international ecosystem research programs by working in the PICES secretariat for periods of up to one year. The PICES Intern Program has two main goals: 1.

Professional development of marine scientists and managers from PICES member countries; 2. Increasing the capacity of the PICES secretariat to support the work of PICES.
