Grant Description

On September 28, 2018, the opening ceremony of the "Bright Action" Surgery Project ("Action la Lumiere" or 光明行) was held at the China-Chad Friendship Hospital and was attended by Chinese Ambassador Li Jinjin as well as Chadian Minister of Health Saleh, and a number of Chinese medical aid workers from Nanchang University's affiliated eye hospital.

The doctors began working on September 1st and finished on the 8th of September 2019. While the 1st phase of project (#56022) cured 233 cataract patients, the second phase performed 270 surgeries.

Launch of a Chinese ophthalmology caravan at the Chad-China Friendship Hospital Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
