Grant Description
On December 9, 2019, the China-Mauritius Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was opened at City Clinic in Port Louis, Mauritius.
The China-Mauritius Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine was being developed as part of a deal signed between the Shanghai Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, which is affiliated with Shanghai University, and City Clinic in Mauritius.
This project was a part of the Belt and Road Initiative under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is supported by the Chinese government.
With the assistance of the Shanghai Caitongde Pharmacy, the Yueyang hospital will send experienced two TCM experts and a pharmacist to the center, providing acupuncture, massage and herbal therapy. Since the opening of the center, the center has been treating 30 patients on average every day. The value of the center and exact funding is unknown.
