Grant Description

In March 2014, China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. (CHEC), the contractor responsible for St.

Mark's Flood Mitigation Project, -- which was financed by a $5.1 million USD supplier's credit loan from CHEC (see linked Record ID#54965) -- announced that it would donate a basketball court to the Bonair Government School. The school and the donated basketball court was located in the town of Victoria in Saint Mark Parish.

CHEC had used a large section of the school's grounds as a project site during the implementation of the flood mitigation project. The basketball court was intended for the use of the students and wider community. CHEC also donated school supplies to the students of the school in March 2014 (see linked Record ID#85814).

The completion ceremony of the St.

Mark's Flood Mitigation Project, which was held on June 27, 2014, took place at the newly-built donated basketball court. The court was handed over the same day.
