Grant Description
Profiles in Courage: Mission Russia is using Profiles in Courage as a theme for public diplomacy programming during 2005.
The underlying concept relates to promoting democracy by highlighting the courageous efforts of individuals at the grassroots level.
The proposed Speaker Program would complement the launch of an Embassy-sponsored, FSA-funded translation of Profiles in Courage (never before translated into Russian).
The book launch and Speaker Program will coincide with President Kennedy's birthday and the JFK Library's announcement of the 2005 Profiles in Courage award winner.
