Book Purchase: The Montenegrin media community is divided into two factions, essentially those who are pro-independence and those who are pro-Serbian (pro-Union).
They do not usually come together to work on issues which are of mutual resolve, such as protection of journalists from political pressure, lawsuits, threats, and violence.
Recently the editor of the 2nd largest newspaper in Montenegro was assassinated, and this has created an unusual moment of journalistic unity.
The program would continue last summer's work to bring together various factions and talk to them about how to support self-regulatory measures in the journalistic community, while also reaching working-level journalists through seminars on ethics.
