The National Institute for Science and Technology (NIST) provides 4-5 workshops per year for officials from Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, focusing on sectors that have been identified as having high priority for trade facilitation by both U.S. businesses as well as the Department of Commerce and U.S. trade agencies.

High priority areas and private sector sponsors are identified through an open, formal process, which includes a Federal Register Notice seeking public input.
