Anti-Trafficking [through Voice of Afghan Women ]

G/TIP is supporting Voice of Afghan Women (VWO) to provide direct protection to women at risk for trafficking and assistance to female trafficking victims.

Voice of Afghan Women is providing residential shelter care and services to trafficked women, as well as women at risk for being trafficked, in the Badghis province of Afghanistan. Services include: housing, counseling, medical care, vocational training, and legal assistance.

Voice of Afghan Women is establishing a Coordination and Cooperation Committee (CCC) that will be responsible for facilitating communication and coordination between the shelter, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

Voice of Afghan Women is also providing technical assistance and training to government officials, including law enforcement, district authorities, judiciary staff, and the Department of Women Affairs staff on the safe house program components and referral process.

They are a local NGO working in a traditionally underserved province in Afghanistanour funds went to support the first TIP shelter in Badghis.
