Grant Description

These funds will be used to supplement and continue a cooperative agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) which supports two purposes globally: 1) short-term targeted technical assistance and/or training to foreign governments and NGOs based on the findings of the annual Trafficking in Persons Report, and 2) emergency assistance on a case by case basis for individuals identified as trafficked persons overseas when no other resources are available or assistance cannot be provided in a timely manner to meet the emergency needs of such victims.

IOM will work in close consultation and coordination with G/TIP on the selection of countries for training and technical assistance and the selection of beneficiaries for emergency assistance.

This approach to addressing the anti-trafficking training needs of governments and NGOs overseas has proven to be both cost-effective and timely.
