Hagar USA Inc. is currently providing training and capacity building to key staff within selected local NGOs in Afghanistan to improve the care and management of trafficking victims.
In partnership with the Ministry of Womens Affairs, Hagar has developed an advocacy council comprised of NGO leadership and government representatives in an effort to develop minimum standards of care for TIP victims throughout Afghanistan.
Hagar has been holding regular monthly coordination meetings with key partners; identified key training needs through a needs assessment and ongoing discussions with NGOs; and has conducted a series of trainings that have been well received both among NGO and government entities.
Their initial concept note for the supplement includes some much needed training for government officials (judiciary, border police) on the TIP law, and identification and referral of trafficking victims.
