Grant Description

The overall objective of the project is to assist the Government of Djibouti (GoD) in its counter trafficking efforts through capacity building, protection activities, and direct assistance to victims of trafficking and support the GoD's efforts to improve its US State Department tier ranking.

The project will address the gaps in the protection of victims of trafficking, including the absence of a national referral system and lack of shelters and assistance programs available to victims of trafficking.

The project includes the development of a national referral system, capacity building of the GoD, civil society organizations, and services providers, and provision of direct assistance to the victims of trafficking in the form of shelter, basic services, and victim assistance packages.

The result of these activities will be increased access and quality and quantity of protective and assistance services for victims of trafficking.
