IOM will support the development of a legislative base for effective investigation and prosecution of trafficking.
This work will consist of two main activities: (1) an assessment of TIP trends and laws through information-gathering from the government, researchers, migration experts, and other stakeholders; and (2) designing a training curriculum for law enforcement officials that includes legal information, local resources, and sensitizes participants on issues regarding general human rights, having a gender- and child-sensitive perspective, and understanding the difference between smuggling and trafficking.
Two training sessions are planned for each of the 7 administrative regions, as well as Conakry.
