Grant Description

IOM will assist Papua New Guinea government officials and other stakeholders to increase the country's capacity to prosecute traffickers and protect victims of trafficking.

Project activities include: supporting the drafting and enactment of anti-TIP legislation; training law enforcement and judiciary officials to identify and investigate potential trafficking cases; providing training for enhanced protection measures; and creating a referrals system for victims of trafficking.

IOM will also develop and implement an awareness raising campaign, including the establishment of a dedicated telephone hotline to collect data and provide guidance to stakeholders.
