Grant Description

IOM's project will gather information on male trafficking patterns between East Africa and South Africa, analyze the impact of the elevated construction demands in South Africa in advance of the 2010 World Cup, and examine the relationship among trafficking, smuggling, and migration.

This project will provide the U.S. and the governments of Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, and South Africa with information concerning the modes and routes of transport, the forms of exploitation, the specific vulnerabilities of the source communities, and recommendations for prevention and protection.

The information will also be useful for the Trafficking in Persons Report.
