Grant Description

The funds will enable Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights (Heartland Alliance) to build upon a short-term emergency project awarded by G/TIP in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake.

Heartland Alliance will work with appropriate Haitian child protection institutions, which may include immigration enforcement officials, the Haitian Social Welfare Institute (IBERS), UNICEF, and partner NGOs, to enhance the capacity of the Haitian Child Protection Brigades to identify children who are trafficked or at risk of being trafficked.

These efforts will be coordinated with other USG-funded activities and actions of the international community.
