This project will conduct a study and provide a final report that addresses the practices of Thai recruitment agencies.
The study will analyze the structure and profile of Thai licensed recruitment agencies, including their current practices in recruiting Thai migrants to work abroad, interaction with government officials and politicians, and their enforcement of the Employment Recruitment Law and its influence on protecting workers from being trafficked.
The study should shed light on the link between labor recruitment and human trafficking through the operation of recruitment agencies.
The Asian Research Center for Migration will also make recommendations for effective prevention and protection strategies on behalf of persons being trafficked via recruitment agencies.
