Human Rights and Democracy Fund - Human Rights [through NGO - United States Other].

Promote democracy in the Middle East and North Africa by conducting two projects in support of the Community of Democracies (CD) and the implementation of the Seoul Plan of Action at the United Nations: 1) Coordinating one of the regional meetings, providing technical and financial assistance in the organization, developing a regional advocacy strategy to promote awareness of the CD Seoul Plan of Action and making recommendations as to how the CD can best promote democratic change in the region; 2) increasing awareness of and support in the international community for an effective democracy caucus at the United Nations by reaching out to governments that participate in the Community of Democracies, national and international NGOs, political leaders, and overseas media and working with them to provide briefings at regional and international conferences
