State Department, Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Activity for Southern Thailand - Promotion of Democracy and Civic Participation via Public Affairs Section of Embassy.

Public Affairs Section used these funds to: 1) create and energize networks of southern Thai alumni of U.S. educational and visitor programs to act as agents of civic participation, development, and reconciliation in the South; and 2) provide a series of small grants analogous to Democracy Grants (up to $10,000 each) to develop civil society and enhance economic opportunity.
