Grant Description

The churches and monasteries of the Drino Valley stand testament to the rich cultural heritage of Albania and the western Balkans from late Antiquity to the post-Byzantine era.

Drawing from the survey of registered cultural monuments of Christianity produced during previous AFCP grants (2014 and 2019), this project involves the conservation of five monasteries and the development of a community-focused cultural route for tourists.
