Grant Description

The underwater archaeological site of the Camargo shipwreck is of immense historical significance as it represents the last known slave ship to land in Brazil. The project aims to preserve this endangered site and its artifacts and promote cultural tourism.

Activities include non-destructive site documentation, artifact conservation, training for local heritage practitioners, development of cultural tourism initiatives, and application for World Heritage status.
