Grant Description

The Extramural Sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone is a significant ancient Greek sanctuary that was severely damaged by Storm Daniel in 2023.

This project aims to stabilize and conserve the sanctuary, train local Department of Antiquities staff, and develop a long-term management plan.

Activities include initial stabilization and conservation work, training sessions, ongoing monitoring and assessment, and public engagement through a dedicated website and educational materials for schools.
