Grant Description

The largest and most ambitious of the desert palaces in Jordan, the unfinished Qasr Al-Mushatta endures as a reminder of Umayyad architectural and artistic attainment during the final decades of the caliphate.

This project continues the work begun under a previous AFCP grant and involves continued conservation of the palace and an applied field school for university students.
