Grant Description

One of the largest collections of uniquely Bosnian tombstones dating from the Middle Ages to the Ottoman period, the Stecci Necropolis has been progressively damaged during the 1990s.

Project funds are being used for archaeological investigations to define the exact position of the graves, allowing the Stecci tombstones to be placed in their original positions.
