To support the preservation of the remaining fragments of the mosque built in 1324 by manding Emperor Kankou Moussa following his pilgrimage to Mecca.
The mosque was designed by Andalusian architect Es Sahali, testimony of the exchange between the Sudan and the Mediterranean regions.
The project includes the construction of a protective shelter, the installation of interpretative site information and publication of a brochure about the site's history.
