To support the preservation and sustainable development of the Curruste archaeological site, which dates to the Late Classic Period (650-950 AD).
The site reveals evidence of a complex cultural settlement that was not Maya, but maintained relations with Maya groups in neighboring countries, as well as other cultures in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
The project will serve as a model for ecotourism that can be used throughout the country as Honduras works to develop their tourism industry.
